Acne is a chronic inflammatory condition of the oil gland. There are three contribtuing factors, they are; the overproduction of oil, bacteria and dead skin cells.. This condition is most commonly seen on oily skin types, but not exclusively. The skin is an organ of elimination, whatever toxins the liver and kidneys don't eliminate, the skin will. The job of the liver is to neutralize toxins, but if you have a poor diet, your liver can become overwhelmed and fail to do it's job. A diet that contains lots of dairy and meat can have an acidifying effect which can cause acne to erupt on any skin type. Excess sugar in the diet can suppress immune function which can lead to inflamed acne eruptions.
The Key is to maintain a good skin care regimen, maintain a good diet, drink half of your body weight in oz. of water. Divide your weight by 2 , that is the amount of water you need daily in ounces. Eat fresh fruit and vegetables daily to make sure that you are moving your bowels regularly. Ideally 2 to three times daily, but at least once a day.
Acne can present on a dry skin type. Dry skin has invisble pores and the texture is like that of an apple. Many times the skin will erupt with acne because of the misusage of product (see what causes skin damage). The other causes would be stress, not drinking enough water, not moving your bowels regularly and hormonal fluctuations.
