The year was 1997 and I turned 30 years [old].  Two months after my birthday, I noticed a sudden change in my skin. I had acne!!  All over my face were these bumps and I was devastated.  I tried home remedies as prescribed by the "elders" in my family and that didn't work.  I am a nurse by profession, so I decided to go to a dermatologist.  I was treated for adult acne with cortisone injections and Benzamycin topical cream.  The breakouts subsided and I thought that was the end [of it]. In the summer of 1999 it happened again.  My skin erupted into the same pattern of breakouts on my cheeks and forehead.  Again, I went to a dermatologist.  This time I was started on antibiotics and given another topical cream.  The regimen did not work and the eruptions became more frequent, accompanied by dark spots.  I went through several creams and antibiotics with no improvement.  This went off and on for almost three (3) years and my skin was getting worse.  I was terrified, confused, disappointed, hopeless, and began to be self-conscious of my skin problem in public. In the winter of 2001, I saw an esthetician sent from God.  She examined my skin and did an assessment of my diet and pattern of breakouts.  Valli suggested that I see her for skin care management.  She also recommended a vitamin/herbal supplement regimen to help control the breakouts internally.  I began the supplements with some skepticism and then the skin care regimen.  I must say that I noticed a difference in my skin within the first week of using the products.  My skin is softer, and my breakouts have decreased from multiple eruptions to one to two pimples here and there.  Valli also gave me a sample of a spot cream and [instructed me to massage this cream into any pimples that erupt].  I put the spot cream on, overnight, after my evening skin care routine.  The next day the pimple had decreased by 50%.
