Mature Skin

Wrinkles

As you mature, body processes slow down and so does oil production. Once oil production slows down, the skin's ability to maintain adequete hydration diminishes. Once dehydration occurs, little folds in the skin begin to develop thus you have superficial wrinkles! Along with diminshed oil production , collegen which is the protein fibers that act as the skin's scafolding begin to collapse. When collegen fibers collapse you have deep wrinkles. Cosmetically, you cannot stop the aging process, but you can certainly slow it down. The skin needs a balance of oil and water, and in most cases, mature skin is void of both.

To illustrate this example, imagine a dry, balled up piece of tissue being smoothed out on a flat surface. No matter how many times you attempt to smooth it out, it maintains its wrinkles. Now imagine pouring water over it. Guess what happens?!! THE WRINKLES IN THE TISSUE DIMINISH OR EVEN DISSAPEAR!!! The same thing occurs with the skin! As he skin dehydrates, oil and hydration can be restored and maintained through good exfoliation, intensive serums and rich moisturizers.

A good skin care regimen for mature skin/ very dry skin would be: The Honey and safflower cleanser, the revitalizing toner, the vitamin C serum, the oatmeal buffing cream, the firming eye cream and the vitamin C moisturizer.

Cleansing procedure:

Step 1: Cleanse by wetting face and putting cleanser the size of a dime on your fingers and cleanse entire face. Rinse and repeat.

Step2: On the days when you are exfoliating, take a small amount of oatmeal buffing cream and massage in circular motions all over your entire face. Rinse and move to next step.

Step 3: Take a round dry facial pad and pour a small amount of toner on it and go over entire face with toner.

Step 4: Apply a drop of serum to your forehead, one drop on each cheek and one drop on your chin. You only ned a drop because it is very concentrated.

Step 5: Apply a very small amount of eye cream around eye area.

Step 6: Apply Moisturizer all over face. If you are a more mature skin, apply products to neck, as a preventative you can apply to neck at any age.
